How to Change Your Dial-Up Number

Mag-Net will no longer be providing dial-up Internet service. If you were a Mag-Net dial-up user, your account has been transferred to ABC Communications who will supply you with uninterrupted dial-up service.

With the transfer of services to ABC, you will need to change your dial-up number to 250-562-7000. ABC will be providing the technical support for your dial-up service from now on. Please contact them at 250-612-5270 for assistance with changing the dial-up number on your computer. Or follow the instructions for your operating system below to update the phone number in your dial-up settings.

Windows 95/98

  1. Double click the My Computer icon.
  2. Double click the Dial Up Networking folder.
  3. In the folder that opens, there should be a "Mag- Net" icon or something similar. Right click the icon and select Properties from the menu that appears.
  4. Telephone Number: Change this number to 250-562-7000
  5. Click OK to save your settings.

Windows Me

  1. Click the Start button.
  2. Select Settings and click on Dial Up Networking.
  3. In the folder that opens, there should be a "Mag- Net" icon or something similar. Right click the icon and select Properties from the menu that appears.
  4. Telephone Number: Change this number to 250-562-7000
  5. Click OK to save your settings.

Windows 2000

  1. Click the Start button.
  2. Select Settings and click on Network and Dial-up Connections.
  3. In the folder that opens there should be a "Mag- Net" icon or something similar. Right click the icon and select Properties from the menu that appears.
  4. Phone Number: Change this number to 250-562-7000
  5. Click OK to save your settings.

Windows XP

  1. Click the Start button.
  2. Select Connect To and then click on the Show all
    connections     option.
  3. In the folder that opens, there should be a "Mag- Net" icon or something similar. Right click the icon and select Properties from the menu that appears.
  4. Phone Number: Change this number to 250-562-7000
  5. Click OK to save your settings.

Windows Vista

  1. Click the Start button.
  2. Select Connect To.
  3. In the window that opens, there should be a "Mag- Net" connection listed or something similar. Right click the connection and select Properties from the menu that appears.
  4. Phone Number: Change this number to 250-562-7000
  5. Click OK to save your settings.

MacOS X

  1. Click on the Apple menu.
  2. Select System Preferences.
  3. Select the Network icon followed by PPP tab.
  4. Telephone Number: Change this number to 250-562-7000
  5. Click Apply Now.
